Q1. Is it necessary to be connected to the Internet before running Emmeslink?

A1. No. Emmeslink will initiate an Internet connection whenever one is needed.

Q2. What are some of the special features of Emmeslink?

A2. Emmeslink gives you the power of the most sophisticated link checkers sitting right on your Desktop. No more need to search out various websites. Emmeslink even allows you to check out entire websites on your own computer, even before they are uploaded. You do not need to have an HTML server running in order to use it.

Q3. Does Emmeslink have to be installed in a specific directory?

A3. Emmeslink may be installed in any directory.

Q4. Does Emmeslink require special configuration?

A4. No. Presumably you have configured your Internet connection previously. Emmeslink automatically checks what this connection is and uses it whenever necessary.

Q6. What is new in version 0.4?

A6. 1) Version 0.4, totally rewritten to be quicker and more accurate, checks all links and anchors, validating "src;=" as well as "href=" directives.

Q6. What are the known issues in version 0.4?

A6. 1) It is neccessary for the entire search to finish before you are able to scroll through the results. A three-line real-time progress report keeps you updated on what is happening. 2) There is no graceful way to interrupt the search midway. 3) Version 0.4 retains the "Browse questionable links" button of earlier versions, but aside from occasional time-outs or "Server Error" notifications, Emmeslink generally reports all valid links as valid.
