Emmesmail

is composed of a graphical graphical user interface and seven helper programs.

The helper programs are

• msm, an outgoing-mail delivery program,
• msp, an incoming-mail retrieving program,
• msc, a scheduler for the mail retrieval process.
• msd, a program which distributes the mail to the appropriate mailbox and diverts spam.
• and three programs that help configure the application.

Important features in any mail-handling program are

speed, safety, reliability, control,

and the ability to handle many different types of email.

Because Emmesmail was written as a suite of programs rather than as one extremely large program,

each program was able to be optimized for the task it is needed for.
